Albany Medical College’s Chapter of Students for a National Health Care Program will be hosting its Annual Great Debate.

This year’s event explores the question Should the US Adopt a Single Payer Healthcare System?

The US is the highest healthcare spender in the world, yet 30 million Americans remain uninsured and many others cannot afford the care they need even with insurance. Attempts to reform healthcare have been controversial and politically charged. Dr. Andrew Coates (former President of Physicians for a National Health Program) and Dr. Brian Sheridan (former Medical Director for Capital District Physicians Health Plan) will explore which healthcare reform is needed to get basic, affordable healthcare to all.
