The Mountaintop
March 1, 2020 at 3:00 pm - 5:00 pm
Performances at 7:30 pm Friday and Saturday, February 28 and 29 then 3 pm Sunday March 1.
Synopsis:
A stormy night: April 3, 1968. Room 306, Lorraine Motel, Memphis, Tennessee. Martin Luther King, Jr., has just delivered his “I’ve Been to the Mountaintop” sermon in support of the striking Memphis sanitation workers. Alone in his room, struggling to find the words for his next speech, King calls room service. The maid who brings his coffee also brings humor, mystery, challenge, revelation, dread, and, ultimately, a vision for the future. An inspirational fantasy deeply rooted in heartbreaking history.
