On January 27, 2018 at 7:30pm, four regional bands bring their music to Warm you up and Shake out your winter doldrums with the 4th annual Winter Warm-UP!
Red Dirt Highway – is a folk/country/grass trio with strong melodies and powerful storytelling: think Emmylou Harris and Patty Loveless are drinking with Joni Mitchell over at Guy Clark’s house and then Steve Earl drops by. Be afraid; be very afraid. But be there.
Mixed Roots – is clearly a band that plays exotic grooves mixed with danceable beats. With members hailing from Ghana, the Indian Sub-continent and Albany NY, Mixed Roots is a rare breed of band for the area. Featuring Afro rhythms, international guitar licks, foot-stomping bass and a horn section, these folks are bringing fire and energy to the area. Don’t miss them.
SubSlab – plays original music that mines the rock genre with an upbeat, whimsical and mature ear tuned to stories of love & loss, redemption & hope. (with a beat you can dance to!) They create powerful tunes with melodic hooks, thundering bass lines, harmonious guitars and rock-steady drumming.
Hasty Page – is a group of talented young musicians from New York that came together to create an exciting, inspirational alternative rock experience. Their original music paints a theatrical image through the use of creative lyrics and intricate musicianship. With a mix of popular cover tunes and invigorating original music, their live shows always entertain.
So come on down to The Linda – 339 Central Ave, Albany, NY. Dancing’s on the agenda so don’t miss it. Doors open at 6:30. Beer, Wine & Snacks available. And remember, it’s a benefit for WAMC. Bring your friends!
