March 29, 2019 at 7:00 pm - 9:30 pm
The highly anticipated third solo release “Awakening” is the newest album from Composer/Pianist Andy Iorio. Written and recorded over the past two years, “Awakening” will feature not only solo piano pieces, but full piano and string arrangements as well. This “Album Release Concert” will be an intimate performance of the new album as well as select pieces from his previous two albums; “After The Rain” and “II”. This performance will feature Tania Halko Susi on violin and Demetria Koninis on cello.
“Andy Iorio is the best kind of alchemist, perfectly blending classical elements with contemporary components to achieve a sound that is pleasing on multiple levels. Black & white to the eye, but to the ear, the heart, and the soul they have about a million shades of emotion. His evocative performances are what soul needs from time to time to rejuvenate. ” | RJ Lannan – Zone Music Reporter
“Capturing an elegant balance of shadow and light, Andy Iorio has demonstrated a keen ability to convey often dramatic emotional expressions within a generally subtle and perfectly understated musical framework. Overall II is a superbly crafted album” | Candice Michelle – Journeyscapes Radio
“Captivating, moving, emotional and stunning!! A mastery of the piano that goes far beyond the technical” | Andrea Garrison – Online with Andrea
Composer/Pianist Andy Iorio’s new release, “Awakening” is grounded in his trademark emotionally moving melodies with a lush, vibrant string section. His original compositions give quiet impressions of serenity while carrying simple tonality. Its harmonies fluid and controlled run toward something both bare and natural. His goal is, and has always been, to engage, inspire and underscore the emotional connections between people and to compose music that speaks a universal soul-stirring language that “takes [the listener] along on a deep emotional journey that resonates within all of us.”
Since the release of his second album “II”, Andy has become internationally recognized in over 39 countries. With only three music videos on Youtube with over 37,000 plus views to date, his fan base is ever growing. “II” has been recently added to Sydney Australia’s Soundslike Cafe debuting in the Top 10 at #8 this past October. His piece “Rush” was nominated for an HMMA award in Hollywood in November of 2016 in the “Best New Contemporary Classical/Instrumental” Genre/Category. International radio airplay and interviews across the United States, NPR, Canada, Australia and Japan are just a few of the countries now playing Andy’s music and it continues to grow with over 100k streams in 2018.
