Capital Cinema Cultural Exchange: NORTHEAST FILMMAKERS LAB

The Capital Cinema Cultural Exchange, Inc. (CCCE) hosts its annual Northeast Filmmakers Lab October 25-26th in the Capital Region and is pleased to announce it’s official line-up of Film Talks, lab Participants and partners. Opening film project presentations begin 9:30am Thursday, October 25th at The Linda, 339 Central Avenue, Albany, NY 12206. Film Talks take place during the Film Columbia XIX,12noon and 3pm Friday, October 26th at Tracy Memorial Hall 77 Main Street, Chatham, NY 12037. Tickets available on-line www.cinemaexchange.org. Doors open 30 minutes prior to events. Seating is Limited. Reservations are recommended.

 

The Northeast Filmmakers Lab supports emerging filmmakers to complete and present their projects in a rapidly changing media landscape by leveraging world-class industry expertise through a lab process. This year’s lab fellows will receive a private consultation with actor Stephen Lang (Avatar, Beyond Glory), an award-winning stage and film actor, writer, and producer and star of His Dark Land. This meeting takes place 1:15pm, October 25th at the Veterans Administration, 113 Holland Ave, Albany, NY 12208, 3rd Floor and is open to press. Later that evening, Mr. Lang will receive the 2018 Empire State Archives and History Award from the New York State Archives Partnership Trust, 7pm Chancellor Hall with a Q&A conducted by author, scholar, Harold Holzer.

 

5th edition projects include 3 feature films, 2 shorts, 6 documentary and 1 new media. Feature projects include THIS PERFECT UNION, an apocalyptic story by filmmaking duo Tracy and Jon Cring; ON DEVIL’s GROUND by Micah Kahn; NIKKI LIX by Rose Schimm; VOODOO MACBETH by Susan Robbins (Lee’s 88 Keys). Advancing toward completion include THE DILDO FROM NANTUCKET a new documentary by Michael McGuire along with returning documentaries BENEDICT ARNOLD: HERO BETRAYED by Tom Mercer and Anthony Vertucci; MAN ON THE BENCH, the story of Capital Region icon Lew Swyer by Carol Swyer; ON TO THE LAND OF MILK AND HONEY, by Howard Garbarsky and SCARED TO DEBT: America’s Student Loan Scam which explores the origins and solutions to the nations $1.5 trillion dollar student loan debt crisis by Mike Camoin.

Established in 2014, the Capital Cinema Cultural Exchange is a 501(c)3 not-for-profit. Through interaction with audiences, industry experts and peers, filmmakers can acquire a greater understanding of the language and best practices needed to navigate the creative and business paths from development to marketing, from financing to completion.
