LAVEDA: Open for Take-Out Virtual Concert Series
August 31, 2020 at 8:00 pm - 9:00 pm
The Linda WAMC’s Performing Arts Studio presents The Open For Take-Out Virtual Concert Series Featuring Laveda
About this Event
Hailing from NY, indie dream pop/rock outfit genre blending project, Laveda set nostalgic and cinematic moods with a 90’s-esque reverberated guitar driven sound reminiscent of The Sundays or My Bloody Valentine. Despite the common tropes of the shoegaze revival movement, Laveda are able to maintain polished pop vocal performances similar to that of Billie Eilish. Founding members Ali and Jake voice the concerns of today’s younger generation in their song, Better Now and say that this is the main theme throughout their debut record “What Happens After”.
The band has played extensively in and around the New England/NYC area and completed a full Northeastern US/Canada tour in summer 2019. They embarked on a second tour down the East Coast (US) with bassist Dan Carr and drummer Joe Taurone that was due to culminate in Austin at SXSW 2020 (canceled due to COVID-19).
The band has earned notoriety from blogs such as Pitchfork (Elia Einhorn from Fashion Brigade & The Scotland Yard Gospel Choir), David Dean Burkhart, CLOUT, Fadeawayradiate, Various Small Flames and more. Their Debut Album “What Happens After” is out now.
The Linda: WAMC’s Performing Arts Studio is thrilled to announce the commencement of an exciting new program at the venue named “The Linda: Open for Take-Out Virtual Concert Series” produced in collaboration with the acclaimed video production company Chromoscope Pictures.
