The Capital Cinema Cultural Exchange  welcomes Iceland’s leading actor, Ingvar Eggert Sigurðsson starring in OF HORSES AND MEN. Sigurðsson will introduce the off beat at times, jaw dropping film and offer a Q&A, sharing behind the scenes stories of acting and producing. The special screening is preceded by a 5:30PM cocktail fundraiser to support the Capital Cinema Cultural Exchange’s annual international filmmakers lab on September 22nd-25th, which empowers independent filmmakers.

Set among hearty horse owners in ever-photogenic Iceland, Benedikt Erlingsson’s dryly witty “Of Horses and Men” is like an animal documentary, but about people. Life revolves around mares and stallions in the film’s windswept terrain, but the animals’ orblike eyes direct us to the many follies of their owners, who are driven by petty desires and, occasionally, courage.Of Horses And Men has won numerous awards and was the official submission for Iceland, Academy Awards® 2014– Best Foreign Language Film.
