Rochmon Record Club | Derek and the Dominos “Layla and Other Assorted Love Songs”
July 25, 2019 at 7:30 pm - 9:30 pm

Thursday July 25th at 7:30 The Rochmon Record Club will converge to listen, learn about and discuss Eric Clapton’s 1970 tour de force, Derek and the Dominos “Layla and Other Assorted Love Songs” at The Linda, WAMC’s Performing Arts Studio 339 Central Ave, Albany NY
Clapton, fresh off of playing in two super groups, Cream and Blind Faith, was searching for something new. After touring with Delaney and Bonnie and Friends he formed Derek and the Dominos from the skeleton of that epic touring band. Joined in the studio by Duane Allman, “Layla and Other Assorted Love Songs” was not a huge seller or a critically well received LP. Time tells the story about all classic music and “Layla and Other Assorted Love Songs” has stood the test of time. We’ll listen to Derek and the Dominos “Layla and Other Assorted Love Songs” on The Linda’s state of the art sound system.
The Listening Party begins at 7:30 pm with a live audio & video presentation by Chuck Vosganian aka “Rochmon”. A Rochmon Record Club Listening Party is meant to inform and deepen our understanding of the history of the individual performers, the songs and the stories that made this iconic album. By listening together we get to hear the album again for the first time.
