Rochmon Record Club Listening Party
Elton John “Goodbye Yellow Brick Road”
December 21, 2023 at 7:00 pm – 9:30 pm
On Thursday, December 21 The Rochmon Record Club will converge at The Linda, WAMC’s Performing Arts Studio 339 Central Ave., Albany, to listen, learn about and discuss Elton John’s – “Goodbye Yellow Brick Road”. Tickets available at thelinda.org
“Goodbye Yellow Brick Road”, released in 1973, is widely considered one of Elton’s best records. The 18 track, double record set, is jammed packed with great songs which span many diverse musical genres. With a band at the top of their game and songs like, “Candle in the Wind”, “Bennie and the Jets”, the title song and “Saturday Night’s Alright for Fighting”, “Goodbye Yellow Brick Road” drives a visual narrative that is impossible to ignore. Due to the 76-minute length of “Goodbye Yellow Brick Road” the Listening Party will be 2.5 hours long and end close to 9:30. As is his way, Rochmon will have a few surprises in store!
Rochmon Record Club Listening Parties begin at 7pm with a live audio & video presentation by Chuck Vosganian aka “Rochmon”. A Rochmon Record Club Listening Party is meant to inform and deepen our understanding of the history of the individual performers, the songs, and the stories that went into the making of this iconic album.
The Linda’s Bar will be open for snacks and drinks. Tickets are available online at thelinda.org. The Rochmon Record Club is held on the 3rd Tuesday of the month at Caffe’ Lena (caffelena.org) in Saratoga Springs, the 3rd Thursday of the month at The Linda, WAMC’s Performing Arts Studio in Albany, and the last Wednesday of the Month at The Park Theater (parktheatergf.com) in Glens Falls.
